VAUCLUSE RESIDENCE
VAUCLUSE RESIDENCE
A sense of arched serenity and unforced monastic luxury is proposed to an imposing north facing, 1930s Spanish Mission residence of heritage significance. The house is delicately transformed into a series of interconnected spaces that imbue warmth, elegance, and a bit of old world glamour. Spaces are finished with earthy terracotta tiles, wide oak plank floors and chalky lime-washed walls, accented by limed wooden cabinetry, and marble pedestal sinks that speak to the baptismal fonts in the Mediterranean tradition. Decoration nods to the past without lapsing into pastiche - timeless, calm and contextually balanced. The effect is lush but not profuse, restrained but never austere.
