VAUCLUSE RESIDENCE
VAUCLUSE RESIDENCE
A sense of arched serenity and unforced monastic luxury is proposed to an imposing north facing, 1930s Spanish Mission residence of heritage significance. The house is delicately transformed into a series of interconnected spaces that imbue warmth, elegance, and a bit of old world glamour. Spaces are finished with earthy terracotta tiles, wide oak plank floors and chalky lime-washed walls, accented by limed french oak cabinetry, and marble pedestal sinks that speak to the baptismal fonts in the Mediterranean tradition. Decoration nods to the past without lapsing into pastiche - timeless, calm and contextually balanced. The effect is lush but not profuse, restrained but never austere.
